For UK Plasterers

Mix, skim, finish – and file your tax.

Built for plasterers handling skim coats, dry-lining, rendering, and float-and-set. Track time on each job, log materials, send invoices, and submit HMRC MTD without paying an accountant.

If you're a sole trader plasterer,
some of this sounds familiar.

Graft was built specifically because none of the existing tools fit how a plasterer actually works.

×

Drying time = lost productivity tracking

Half a day on site, two days curing, back for the next coat. Tracking real time on the job? Forget it.

×

Mix calculations done in head

5 bags multi-finish, 3 bags bonding, 2 buckets PVA. Costed roughly. Quoted from memory.

×

Cash jobs and ledger jobs mixed

Some customers pay cash, some bank transfer. Records all over the place.

×

MTD compliance from April 2026

Quarterly tax submissions become law. Recognised software required.

What changes when you switch to Graft.

Designed for one person on a phone, on a job, with dirty hands. Not for an accountant in an office.

/ 01

Per-coat time tracking

Clock on, clock off. Each visit logged. Real labour cost per job. Real margin per job.

/ 02

Materials calculator

Pre-built unit costs for British Gypsum, Knauf, multi-finish. Add in m² – quote builds itself.

/ 03

Cash vs transfer income separated

Both logged. Both included on your MTD return. Both auditable.

/ 04

MTD direct to HMRC

Quarterly returns auto-prepared. No accountant. No spreadsheet. No January meltdown.

Plasterers tax, sorted.

Bags of plaster, beading, a mixer and a van — the costs are constant and every one cuts your tax bill. Graft logs them job by job so your Making Tax Digital quarterly figures are ready without the shoebox.

/ 01

Tools

Hawks, trowels, floats, mixing paddle, buckets and a mixer.

/ 02

Materials

Plaster, bonding, beading, scrim, PVA and jointing compound.

/ 03

Plasterers & Making Tax Digital.

Do plasterers need Making Tax Digital?

If you earn over £50,000 as a sole trader plasterer you must keep digital records and file quarterly from April 2026. Graft handles both the records and the HMRC submission.

What expenses can a plasterer claim?

Tools and a mixer, plaster and materials, van and fuel, dust sheets and consumables, PPE and CSCS. Graft logs each against the job automatically.

Does Graft handle CIS for plasterers?

Yes. Plastering is within CIS, so Graft records the deduction taken at source and keeps your quarterly income right.
